Is IQOS a Vape?

A question we receive time to time - is IQOS a vaping device/e-cigarette? The answer? While both options are smoke-free alternatives to cigarettes for adult smokers - no, IQOS is not a vape!

What are the differences between IQOS and Vaping?

Here are all the important differences between IQOS vs vape.

1. Technology. IQOS is part of a category of smokefree products called heated tobacco. This product utilize innovative tobacco heating systems, called IQOS's HeatControl™ which heats tobacco instead of burning it. In comparison, vapes - also called e- cigarettes - work by heating and then vaporizing e-liquid, or vaping liquid.

2. Tobacco. The IQOS device can be used with HEETS sticks. They made with special process. It is important to highlight that IQOS product features are valid only when a HEETS stick is used with an IQOS device. Type and quantity of emitted chemicals when our products are used with other devices or sticks are unknown. The precise heating of these tobacco sticks produces tobacco vapor delivering true tobacco taste, without burning it. IQOS is not risk free. They are addictive and the tobacco aerosol contains nicotine because it is naturally occurring in tobacco. On the other hand, vapes do not use real tobacco; instead, they use a vaping liquid available in a variety at vape shops. Vaping liquids come with nicotine.

3. Product features. HEETS are designed to use with IQOS device, and to last around 14 puffs or around 6 minutes (whichever comes first), which is around the same amount of time as a cigarette. Vapes, however, offer a completely other experience that is different from smoking, due to the usage of vaping liquids.

4. Product variety. Currently there are several different IQOS heated tobacco devices available such as, IQOS 2.4 Plus and IQOS 3 DUO. These different options allow IQOS adult users to select the best which suits their lifestyle.

IQOS is Not an e-cigarette

IQOS is not a vape, but IQOS is a less harmful alternative to cigarettes. It is known that the majority of harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke comes from burning tobacco. Unlike cigarettes, IQOS does not burn tobacco and therefore produces no smoke. Switching completely to IQOS presents less risk to your health than continuing to smoke*.
