Tips and information for the summer season

Summer, beach season, vacations and festivals are finally here!

To ensure you can fully enjoy this wonderful season, we’ve gathered some tips for you as an IQOS user to keep in mind.

If I travel abroad, can I purchase the same TEREA tobacco sticks as I do at home?

When planning your vacation, it’s important to know that in popular destinations such as Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Greece, France and Romania, the availability of tobacco sticks is much more limited than what you’re used to at home.

In the mentioned countries, you will not find the following TEREA tobacco stick variants: Laguna Swift, Blue, Willow, Mauve Wave, Coral Tide, Ruby Fuse, Cameo Fuse, Briza Pearl, Amelia Pearl, Abora Pearl és Twilight Pearl.

In Hungary there is NO CHANGE in the availability of of TEREA tobacco sticks!

It is important to know that the tobacco sticks produced for IQOS devices are not nicotine-free. TEREA tobacco sticks contain nicotine, which is addictive.

IQOS ILUMA is designed to be used only with SMARTCORE STICKS™. Do not use IQOS ILUMA and SMARTCORE STICKS™ with previous IQOS generations, as this may cause damage to your device. Do not ingest or disassemble SMARTCORE STICKS™. This product contains a sharp metal part which can cause serious injury if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and pets. How many packs of TEREA tobacco sticks can I take with me when I traveling abroad?

When traveling within the European Union, it is generally permitted to carry up to 40 packs of tobacco for personal use per person. However, as the excise duty regulations for heated tobacco products vary between member states, please check the applicable rules in the destination country before your trip. It is possible that some countries may allow fewer than 800 sticks, i.e., less than 40 packs per adult traveler.

Where can I use my IQOS tobacco heating device at the airport?

Always ask about this at the specific airport, as in most places there are restrictions on where you can use your IQOS device.
Whithin the transit area of Liszt Ferenc International Airport, there are three terraces where smoking is allowed: the smoking terrace of Terminal 2A can be accessed through the Food Court, the terrace of Terminal 2B is located on the 2nd floor of the building section after passport control, and there is also a terrace available for this purpose on the 1st passenger pier on the 2A side.

In the public areas of the airport, smoking is only permitted outdoors in designated areas, at least 5 meters away from the entrance of the terminals.

What should I pay attention to before traveling if I am an IQOS user?

Like with your other electronic devices, make sure to check the charge level of your IQOS device as well. This can be particularly useful if you are embarking on a long car trip or a lenghty hike where you may not have the opportunity to charge the device.

You can check the battery level of the IQOS ILUMA pocket charger by briefly pressing the button on the pocket charger. The status indicator will light up and show the current battery level. Additionally, you can check the battery level of the holder in the pocket charger. If two LEDs light up, the holder is ready for two uses; if one LED lights up, it is ready for one use. You can also see this information directly on the holder by tilting it towards yourself or pressing the button on it. The LEDs will light up, showing you how many uses the holder is charged for. The charge level of the IQOS ILUMA ONE can be checked by pressing the button on the device. A yellow light indicator on any IQOS ILUMA device means that the device needs to be charged.

Is my IQOS device waterproof?

No. IQOS device, power adaptor and charging cable should not be exposed to any liquid!

What should I do if my IQOS device gets wet?

It is important that if your IQOS device becomes wet, do not touch it! Let it dry! After your IQOS device has dried, check its functionality. If it does not work, contact IQOS Customer Care.

The IQOS CLUB membership ensures that if you accidentally damage your IQOS device, we will replace once both your holder and your charger. We will make the replacement of your IQOS device as soon as possible so that you can use it without interruption. For more information see the Warranty page.



What should I do if my IQOS device has overheated?

If your IQOS device overheats, allow it to cool down first. Do not use or store your IQOS device at high temperatures (such as in a car during summer). If you use an IQOS ILUMA PRIME or IQOS ILUMA device and lights blink white twice that means the device’s temperature is outside the operational range. The operating temperature range for the IQOS device is between 0-40 °C.
