What’s the difference between TEREA sticks and HEETS tobacco sticks?

TEREA sticks (with IQOS ILUMA) and HEETS tobacco sticks (with earlier-generation IQOS blade devices) use heat not burn technology. This heats tobacco from the inside, without any smoke or ash, and with less smell than cigarettes. Both TEREA sticks and HEETS tobacco sticks emit on average 95% lower levels of harmful chemicals than cigarettes*.
Important information: This does not necessarily equal a 95% reduction in risk. IQOS is not risk-free.

Unlike HEETS tobacco sticks, TEREA sticks are sealed. They leave no tobacco residue, so you don’t need to clean your IQOS ILUMA device after every use.

TEREA sticks are designed to be used with IQOS ILUMA devices featured with the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™. This features a metal heating element inside the TEREA sticks, which is coated with stainless steel for the seamless heating of tobacco.
TEREA sticks won’t work with previous IQOS generations that have heating blades, and it may damage these devices.

IQOS ILUMA devices are designed to be used with TEREA sticks only. Do not use IQOS ILUMA and/or TEREA with previous IQOS generations, as this may damage your device.
