IQOS app can be downloaded for free onto Android smartphones from Google PlayStore as follows:
  • Open the Google PlayStore on your mobile.
  • Search for IQOS app in the Google PlayStore or click here
  • Make sure to download the official app developed by Philip Morris International.
  • Install the IQOS application.
  • After the successful installation, launch the application and use your username and password from IQOS.com to log into the app.

    Login into the App is allowed only for registered users. In case you are not registered IQOS user, first, register at IQOS.com.
    Next, open the IQOS app on your phone and choose your language.
    Then use your username and password from IQOS.com to log-in to the IQOS app.
    Follow the steps in the app to complete the process, making sure your IQOS.com account and your app are registered in the same country. To change your country, you’ll need to uninstall and reinstall the app.

    The firmware update of your IQOS ILUMA, is very important and therefore we strongly suggest you carry out a firmware update often, for the device to work properly.

    These are the easy steps to update the firmware of your IQOS device:

    1. Open the IQOS application on your phone or desktop computer.
    2. Log in to the IQOS application with your username and password, then pair your device with the application.
    3. After successful connection, click on the "Devices" tab and select the "Device settings" option.
    4. If new firmware is available for your device, click the "Firmware update" button.
    5. If a new firmware version is available for your device, the application will guide you through the update process.
    6. After the update is complete, disconnect your IQOS device.

    For the devices with the following firmware versions:
  • IQOS 2.4 PLUS - v2.3.0 and above
  • IQOS 3 - v1.1.2 and above for Android, all versions for IQOS web app
  • IQOS 3 DUO - all versions


  • VIBRATIONS: you can change the default vibration settings.

    ILLUMINATION MODE: control the brightness of the lights on your device.

    When a device error or malfunction is detected, the app informs and guides you through the trouble-shooting process to resolve it.

    If the error is non critical:
    A non-critical error is a minor condition that makes your device stop functioning correctly. For example: the device is out of the temperature range.
    You can ignore non-critical notifications and in case the device is back in the temperature range continue to use the device. Device replacement is not needed.

    If the error is critical:
    In case of critical error, follow the step-by-step guidance to solve the problem.

    If a problem is solved with the troubleshooting steps proposed by the IQOS app, a successful resolution notification will be displayed, and you will be able to use the device as before.

    If your device is connected, the app will show ‘Device Connected’.
    If your device has already been paired, it will appear in the carousel of all your devices in the ‘Devices’ tab.
    To see if a device you’ve previously paired is currently connected, go to the ‘Devices’ tab and scroll left or right to find the device you want to check. It’ll tell you if there’s been an error while trying to pair your device.

    Yes, you can pair all your Bluetooth® enabled IQOS devices to the IQOS app, but you can only connect one device to the app at a time. When pairing the IQOS device, make sure that no other IQOS device is switched on near the IQOS device you want to connect, as this may interfere with the correct Bluetooth connection.​ If you want to connect another device, you must first disconnect the previously paired device.

    In the app, go to the ‘Devices’ tab and scroll down to the bottom. Then, tap on the ‘Unpair device’ button.
    Unpairing a device removes the Bluetooth® connectivity link between the device and the app, but your device will still be registered to your account in our system. You can then pair it again at any time.

    Your device may lose Bluetooth connectivity with your mobile phone if:
  • your IQOS device is out of range from the phone
  • your IQOS device is turned off or out of battery
  • the Bluetooth® connectivity on your mobile phone is turned off
  • the Bluetooth® connectivity on your device is turned off
  • you’ve installed an update to the IQOS app


  • Please note that IQOS devices will not reconnect automatically:
  • IQOS 2.4 Plus and IQOS 3 DUO devices will let the app connect to them again after the extraction or insertion of the Holder
  • IQOS 3 MULTI devices will let the app connect to them after a tobacco stick use

    It is highly important to mention that your IQOS Pocket Charger and your IQOS Holder each have separate firmware to update.

    You can update the firmware of your IQOS Charger via USB cable.

    The IQOS Holder firmware can only be updated when the Holder is inserted in the Pocket Charger and connected to a PC or laptop via USB cable.

    Thus, it is generally recommended to conduct the firmware update via USB cable.

    If your IQOS device disconnects and reconnects several times when firmware update is performed, then you do not have to worry, as this is an expected behavior.

    During a software update, the device is automatically disconnected several times to install the new software.

    Please follow the instructions and reconnect the device within 20 seconds to ensure the firmware update runs smoothly.

    In addition, your IQOS device may light up white and red.

    This is also normal in the process of updating the software.

    Your IQOS device may lose Bluetooth connectivity for different reasons.

    If your connection is not stable, check the following steps:

    ​ 1. Check your internet connection stability. For stability, Wi-Fi connection is suggested.
    2. For WebApp check the browser' Bluetooth compatibility (for desktop Chrome browser suggested, and for iOS mobilephone Bluefly browser suggested).
    3. Check that there are no other IQOS devices around your IQOS device which you want to connect to the app. It can cause a Bluetooth connection disturbation.​

    If the above steps cannot solve the connection problem, please try the following tips:
    1. Tip: Restart your IQOS device​
    First, log out from IQOS app. Next, restart your IQOS ILUMA device (hold the start button for 10 seconds). After the restart, open the app and start reconnecting to the app. For proper connection, please follow the steps shown in the app.

    ​ 2. Tip: Reconnect Bluetooth devices​
    First, log out from IQOS app. Next, delete every device that is connected to your phone by Bluetooth (including IQOS devices and other devices). It can cause a Bluetooth connection disturbation. After that, switch off and on your Bluetooth and restart your IQOS device.
    Finally, please try to reconnect your IQOS device to the app.

    ​ 3. Tip: Manual Bluetooth restart​
    First, log out of the app. Delete all devices that are connected to your phone by Bluetooth (including IQOS devices and other devices). It can cause a Bluetooth connection disturbation. Next, switch your Bluetooth off.​
    After that, restart your IQOS ILUMA device manually by following the below steps:​
    - push the switch button on twice and fast, and push again, but for a longer time
    ​ - the LED lights will pulse
    ​ - turn on the Bluetooth on your mobilephone and try the pairing again and later try the app connection as well.​

    ​ 4. Tip: Using a USB cable
    If the previous steps could not solve the connection issue, you can try to connect to your IQOS ILUMA device by using a USB cable.
    Please note that for the firmware update you should use a USB cable for a stable connection. ​

    After successfully connecting your IQOS device to the application, the firmware update option is available as long as your IQOS device has not have the newest firmware version.

    For a successful firmware update, follow the below steps:
    1. Within the application, under the "Device settings", scroll down and click on the "Firmware update" button.
    2. Make sure that your IQOS device are charged at least 25%. Use an USB cable for stable connection.
    3. You cannot use your IQOS device during the update, but you can close the application, and the firmware update will continue.
    4. The firmware update takes up approximately 10 minutes.
